We will accomplish this by:
- Getting people connected to solutions that already exist in our community is our primary function. We believe that together as a community we can do a better job of helping people in financial crisis than the predatory loan industry is doing.
- Referring people to financial help classes & groups available at local churches, social service agencies and schools.
- Partnering with credit unions and banks to provide interest free loans for qualified applicants who go through budgeting education. Loans of up to $500 would be designed to be the last quick loan the applicant would need. IGWT Referral Service would cover the interest and any bad loans using funds from donations and grants.
- Connecting people with services at our easy-to-find storefront on MacArthur Boulevard. Our goal is to open sometime in the fall of 2009.
